WE ARE COMING TO NEW YORK!!!!!!!!!!!!





THE FLORIDA ARTS SCHOOL PRESENTS
A BROADWAY INTENSIVE IN   NEW YORK CITY
Tuition includes group and private classes in dance, voice, scene study, the business of the business, building your book, and culminates in a showcase for agents.  Also included in the tuition are two Broadway Shows, Wednesday matinee and Friday night (to be chosen to correspond with the workshop), Tuesday night “Getting to Know You Dinner”, lunch Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Workshop will be taught by William Wade and Jamibeth Margolis:
William is a composer and musician who works regularly in NYC and sometimes in Tampa. He has worked for Metropolitan Opera, American Ballet Theatre, the Julliard School, Mark Morris Dance Group, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, AMDA, National Dance Institute, Broadway Theatre Project, and Rosie's Broadway Kids (founded by Rosie O'Donnell).  He regularly teaches for R.Evolucion Latina (founded by Luis Salgado of "In the Heights" and Gabriela Garcia of "Chicago") and Broadway Classroom.  His musicals include "Warsaw" (NYMF, Museum of Jewish Heritage, Queens College, among many), "Alice" (BMI Workshop, York Theatre, Midtown International Theatre Festival), "Wounded Knee" (in development), and "ImaginOcean" (off-Broadway and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line). USF, BA in Music Composition; BMI Advanced Musical Theatre Workshop.

Jamibeth is a director and casting director. Her directing credits include many new works for festivals and off-Broadway; she has assisted Jerry Zaks on Broadway and has assistant directed "Tosca" at New York City Opera. Her casting work includes the Broadway and national companies of “Les Miserables”, “Phantom of the Opera”, “Cats”, “Miss Saigon”, “Jane Eyre”, and many others, in addition to casting for television and film.  Jamibeth currently teaches classes and workshops in NYC and is on the faculty of Pace University.

In addition to the agent showcase, students will have the privilege of working with cast members from Broadway shows, choreographers, and special surprise guests well-known to the theatrical community.  Bios of the additional teachers will be provided prior to the workshop, and some material will be provided to work on ahead of time with Linda in Florida before coming to the workshop.  If you are coming from New York or elsewhere, we will send you materials ahead of time.

Flights, hotel, and food other than the four (4) lunches and one (1) dinner are not included in the tuition.  An economical website for housing is www.airbnb.com/NYC

HOURS:           Tuesday, June 12:  1:00 -6:00 P.M.  “Getting to Know You Dinner
                        Wednesday, June 13:  10:00 - 1:00 P.M. Lunch provided and Matinee Broadway show
Thursday, June 14:  10:00 - 6:00 P.M. Lunch provided
Friday, June 15:  10:00 – 6:00 P.M.  Lunch provided and a Broadway show that evening
Saturday, June 16:  10:00 – 4:00 P.M. Lunch provided and culminating in a Showcase for agent(s)

If students want to extend their stay, suggestions will be made for activities available over the weekend.


AGES:  7 years old through College Age. Classes will be separated by age except for master classes.

LIMIT:  15 participants per age level.  We want you to get great individual attention and be seen by the pros!
           
LOCATION:  Studios 353 located at 353 West 48th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues.  This is in the heart of the Theatre District in NYC .
